"View from the cave of Ferhard, 2 hours from Erzeroom [i.e. Erzurum]:" reproduction of painting in 1843 by Lord Robert Curzon; the painting includes William Holmes and Countess Stagno (i.e. Cecilia Zohrab, who married Conte Giuseppe Stagno Navarra in 1838), the latter being the great-grandmother of Patricia Maddocks.

Thomas Duck (b.1770) married Joanna Hare, and moved from County Armagh to County Cork. They had two sons, whom Joanna managed to sent through Trinity College in Dublin. They both entered the church, and changed their surname to Duke: John Patrick Hare Duke (1815-1905) and William Hare Duke (b.1818). Algernon Joseph Hare Duke (1881- 1958) was the third child of John Patrick Hare Duke, and Algeron married Irma Stagno Navarra, whose ancestry was Italian intermarried with Armenians from Persia or Iran. In addition, the family ancestry includes the Williams family from Wales to 1733, and the Buxton family from England to 1170 A.D. There are also Hungarians, Croats, and Czechs in the family ancestry. Most of the families lived in England or had connections there or in British possessions at Malta and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to New Zealand, South Africa and elsewhere.

Includes Brant, Browne, Buxton, Holmes, Nemiro, Stagno Navarra, Williams, Zohrab and related families.
